Zone’in program - Switch on!
The Zone’in program is a first step for teachers, parents and family members to engage with children, helping them to self regulate their energy body so that they can listen, learn and connect with others. Zone’in is designed to be implemented on a yearly basis so children can revisit methods to get their energy Zone’in to Learn.
Zone’in is derived from sensory integration theory and designed to improve students’ learning by maximizing their attention in a classroom setting.
Zone’in is designed to be easy to implement in either home or classroom environments. It’s so easy the kids do it themselves. It’s so effective, the teacher lets them.

Children will learn how to:
- Experience “Zone’in and Learn” by watching a film called Zone’in.
- Determine individual energy zones, and classroom and family “synergy energy” by applying techniques from the Know Your Zone and Tone Your Zone posters.
- Monitor energy zones by using a Zone-O-Meter (a device children attach to their school desks, or home fridge, car dash, bathroom mirror).
- Adjust energy zones using a variety of sensory motor devices called Zone Tools (smellies, chewies, squishies) and a variety of movements called Zone Techniques (tree, hand/chair push, breath push).
- Balance their energy, enabling better learning ALL the time, as Zone’in is an intervention designed to be performed once a year for grades K-6.
